Main Features of Quuppa System

  1. The positioning accuracy provided by the Quuppa system usually reaches 0.5 meters, which is within one meter. The Quuppa system uses private frequency bands, and the standard Quuppa tag can send data at a frequency of up to 50 Hz. Even such an update rate is insufficient in ice hockey. However, the Quuppa system itself has no restrictions, and the tag can be configured to 200 Hz or even higher, reducing the delay to 20 milliseconds or even lower.
  2. The Quuppa system is based on Bluetooth® wireless technology and can track any Bluetooth® Low Energy device that sends Quuppa-specific data packets. Android and Apple devices can be tracked by the Quuppa system by adding just a few lines of code in the application.
  3. There is no need for a locator, and Bluetooth devices can also read the ID number of the Quuppa tag. For example, a doctor can use a mobile phone to read the tag number worn by a patient and send a request for important patient information to the cloud service.
  4. There is a wide range of tag options, including Quuppa and partner tags, the Quuppa QT1 module that can be used directly, or you can design your own tags using the firmware library and circuit diagrams we developed. Basically, with partial modifications to the software, Bluetooth® devices can be tracked by the Quuppa system.
  5. Quuppa standard tags are suitable for almost all purposes. They are lightweight, shockproof, waterproof, and can be worn with a lanyard or attached to fixtures. However, their design or functions are not necessarily the best choice for all scenarios. If you are interested in developing custom tags, we will provide design materials such as reference circuit diagrams, design drawings and bill of materials.
  6. In addition to positioning, the Quuppa system can also be used as an IoT gateway to receive Bluetooth® sensor data and export these data. As more and more Bluetooth® devices are connected to the IoT, the devices themselves and the surrounding information can be displayed through the Quuppa system. The data of sensors in the IoT can also be received by the Quuppa system and exported through an open and configurable API platform.
  7. The Quuppa system can be connected to existing systems through pull or push methods, in the form of standard JSON/REST or CSV. The API is open and fully configurable, and is equipped with an editor that allows you to write your own API. The Quuppa API can export various sensor data, including heart rate, gyroscope, compass, magnetometer, barometer, temperature, humidity and so on.
  8. Thanks to Bluetooth® Low Energy technology, Quuppa tags consume very little power. The standard QT1-1 model tag can send 1 data packet per second and can be used for 3 years, which is about 94.6 million times. Using built-in sensors and geofencing, activating the tag only when needed can extend battery life for several years. Usually, battery manufacturers will limit the maximum lifespan of the battery.
  9. After installation, the Quuppa system rarely requires maintenance. The system has its own monitoring function that will send warning messages in case of abnormalities.
  10. The locator is equipped with a built-in acceleration sensor, and the system will immediately detect it once it is touched, even when offline. When the power is cut off, the system will also automatically recover.
  11. The Quuppa system is based on Bluetooth® wireless technology and is compatible with standard mobile devices. However, the 2.4 GHz frequency band is particularly crowded, so running on these frequency bands is not a simple matter. The Quuppa Intelligent Locating System™ uses advanced proprietary algorithms to provide a powerful and reliable solution even in the harshest environments. For example, in particularly crowded exhibition halls and large stadiums, the Quuppa system can avoid electromagnetic interference from other systems. When tracking high-speed moving objects, such as ice hockey players and the puck, the Quuppa system can be configured to private frequency band mode, increase the position refresh rate, and avoid interference from other wireless devices such as Bluetooth®, WiFi or wireless headphones.
